Meier & Frank was one of Portland's early department stores. Their flagship store was located on the block bounded by SW 6th on the west, SW Washington on the north, SW 5th on the east, and SW Yamhill on the south. The location is now a Macy's.

Julius Meier, one of the only independent politicians ever elected governor of a U.S. state (in 1930), was a member of the Meier family that owned the store.
