The Meier and Frank Building stands in downtown Portland adjacent to Pioneer Courthouse Square.

Designed by A. E. Doyle and faced in white terra cotta, the Meier and Frank department store was a major commercial presence in Portland, despite the owners' Jewish heritage, a serious social liability at the time. At times they jokingly referred to the store as "Murphy and Finnegan's".

Meier's baronial estate and mansion in the southwest hills overlooking the Willamette River is now the campus of Lewis & Clark College.
