Occupy XMas Songs

Occupy is coming to town

You better watch out, you better not lie
You better not steal I'm telling you why
Occupy is coming to town
You're cooking the books, We're checking them twice
Gonna find out who's naughty or nice
Occupy is coming to town
We see you when you're cheating
We know when you're a snake
We know when you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake
Oh, you better watch out, you better not spy
You better not pry I'm telling you why
Occupy is coming to town
We see you when you're speaking
We know when you're a fake
We know if you've been doing wrong
So do good for goodness sake
We're speaking aloud, we're going to try
We're going to teach you not to lie
Occupy is coming to town

Deck the halls

Deck the halls of congress with cash
Fa la la la la la la la la
Tis the season to get your stash
Fa la la la la la la la la
Corporations fill the coffers
Fa la la la la la la la la
We will entertain all offers
Fa la la la la la la la la
Lady Liberty we extort
Fa la la la la la la la la
When we purchase the Supreme Court
Fa la la la la la la la la
Our interests fill the dockets
Fa la la la la la la la la
As we line the judges pockets
Fa la la la la la la la la
Stack the deck against the masses
Fa la la la la - La la la laaah.
While the bankers all get passes
Fa la la la la - La la la laaah.
Don we now our yoke of slav’ry
Fa la la - la la la - La la laaah.
Ignore the Occupiers’ brav’ry
Fa la la la la - La la la laaah.

Jingle bills

Jingle bills. Jingle coins.
Jingle all the way.
Oh, what fun it is to shop,
while freedom slips away.
Oh,
Jingle bills. Jingle coins.
Jingle all the way.
Oh, what fun it is to shop,
While justice is delayed.
Dashing through the mall
With credit cards in play
Into debt we go
Laughing all the way
Bells on cashbox rings
Making spirits bright
What fun it is to shop for bling
While we lose all our rights.
Oh...
Jingle Bells, Wall Street smells
They took our jobs away!
Profits first while people thirst
For justice every day!
Oh
Jingle Bells, fill the cells
Of prisons with the rich!
Who practice greed while those in need
Get told that life's a bitch!

Little Drummer Boys

Come they told me pa rum pum pum pum
Fight for your right to speak pa rum pum pum pum
October sixth we'll meet pa rum pum pum pum
To revolt in the streets pa rum pum pum
rum pum pum pum
rum pum pum pum
Shall we shout to them rum pum pum pum
from under their thumbs
We came to congregate pa rum pum pum pum
We are all poor boys too pa rum pum pum pum
We now have words to bring pa rum pum pum pum
Fit for the banker thieves pa rum pum pum
rum pum pum pum
rum pum pum pum
We won't beg from you pa rum pum pum pum
another crumb
They told us to leave pa rum pum pum pum
They came with gas and guns pa rum pum pum pum
We played our drums for them pa rum pum pum
We kept our peace for them pa rum pum pum pum
rum pum pum pum
rum pum pum pum
Next day they swung at us pa rum pum pum pums
Us and our drums.

Dashing through the waves

Dashing through the waves
In a loaded cargo ship
Is the reason our economy
Has degraded into this
Walmart shelves are stocked
Local businesses can not
Compete with such a travesty
Our jobs have all been lost
Oh, China sells
China sells
Goods that make you sick
Everywhere, people suffer
From this corporate kick, Hey!
China sells
China sells
Everything so cheap
Children work in factories
Just to make ends meat
Our manufacturing,
is called our GDP
When it is down and out
Unemployment we will see
Into kids toys are fed
Mercury and led
If we keep letting this go on
We all will wind up dead
Oh, China sells
China sells
Things we used to make
like electronics, paper goods
And even back yard rakes
Oh, China sells
China sells
To our companies
The Worlds Trade Centers Policies
Have brought us to our knees

Little town of occupy

(To the tune of "Little town of Bethlehem")

Oh little town of occupy
How vocal you have become
With hearts together old and young
Our voices combine as one
And in the face of swat teams
We stand up straight and strong
We’re peaceful and unyielding
We work for everyone

Gramma got run over by a stagecoach

Gramma got run over by a stagecoach
And all her money stole by banking thieves!
You might think Wells Fargo is immoral
As for me and grandpa we agree!
Gramma had a little cottage
And she lived there all alone
Gramma never had much money
Then Wells Fargo bought her mortgage loan!
When she couldn’t make her payment
Bankers took her home away
Now my dear Gramma is homeless
And the banker has a yacht out in the bay!
Gramma got run over by a stagecoach
And her house was stole by banking thieves
You might say there’s no such thing as Satan
But as for me and Grandpa we believe!

Pay, pay, pay

(To the tune of "Row Row Row Your Boat")

Pay, pay, pay your tax,
Like the working class.
Corp’rate giants and millionaires
Don’t deserve a pass.
Tax, tax, tax the rich
Before they bleed us dry.
Don’t cut the programs that we need.
You’ll cause the poor to die.

Away in the Caymans

(To the tune of "Away in a Manger")

Away in the Caymans
The Plutocrats wept
Because, we the people
Are listing their debts
We're no longer fooled by
Divide and delay
We're planting the seeds
But they're making the hay
We're humans, not cattle
We will not be cowed
We are all unbroken
Unbent and unbowed
With love for the Earth
We will stand straight and strong
With love for each other
We'll sing a new song
We will stand together
Through the cold and pain
The Plutocrats loss

Away In Our Hearts

(by Fern Capella)

Away in our hearts lives a place we all know
where children are cherished and healthy things grow
where everyone's equal and all have a home
a place full of love, grace, compassion and hope.
A new day is coming for the Earth that we love
that old way is dying and shriveling up
the world that we make now is up to all of us
let's let every day be the day of the dove.
Peace is our vision and love is in our hearts
we don't know what will happen but we know this is the start
our children deserve laughter, imagination and art
Take my hand in this new world and let's all do our part.

Rupert the red nose liar

Rupert the red nose liar, was a propaganda troll
And if you ever watch fox, you will even say it's so
All of the other networks, often act just the same
They never let the people, join in on the media game
Til one warm October eve, Livestream came to say
People with your lights so bright, wont you stream the show tonight
Then how the people gathered, as they shouted out with glee, YIPEE
Rupert the red nose liar, you won't write our history...

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Occupier

(by Sam Martland, Terre Haute)

Though every occupier
Has a red and chilly nose,
Our hearts are touched with fi-re
As our hope for justice grows.
Everywhere in the U S
People know our movement’s name.
Come out to fight for fairness
And put an end to corporate shame.
Who wrecked our e – con – o – my?
Sure wasn’t you or I.
Must have been those Wall Street folks,
But their bonuses are high.
Let’s all take back our country,
For the ordinary folks.
Let’s work and share together
And wipe away big money’s hoax.

Robbie the red faced bankster

(Sung to "Rudolph")

Robbie the red faced bankster
Had a very big chalet
He didn’t have to work for it
He bought it with your 401k
All of the other banksters
Jealous of his fat cat ways
Cranked up your interest payments
Now they’re really makin’ hay
Then one lazy summer’s day
To Robbie’s great dismay
He’d robbed so much from our hard earned pay
All the money went away.
So now Robbie’s broke and angry
He wants a shiny car with flair
Where can he find the money
From your Granny’s Medicare

Share the Dough!

(by Kelly Karjola; To the tune of "Let it Snow")

While the minimum wage is frightful
For the wealthy life's delightful
Tell those millionaire CEO's
Share the dough, share the dough, share the dough!
The battle around us rages
As we fight for living wages
And we want to get what we're owed
Share the dough, share the dough, share the dough!
We leave families home at night
Working two jobs is the norm
And we know that it's just not right
This system needs some reform
The economy's globalizing
In the streets we're organizing
And we're making our Occupy movement grow
Share the dough, share the dough, share the dough!

Status Quo

(by Carole Rubin; To "Let it Snow")

Oh the weather is wet and wintery
The bloom is off tent cities
But the people here stay cause they know
If they don’t it’ll be status quo
Now the 99 are solid and stand strong
They know that the economy is built wrong
If we don’t change the way money flows
It’ll still be status quo
Oh the rich keep building their fortunes
Off the backs of the rest of us peons
Pollution they love if it will grow
Their rigged up status quo
We need green jobs for our planet
An economy built as though we get it
If we don’t and let each other fall
It’s always be status quo
So occupy, stay strong and call out
For changes to the way wealth is dealt out
Healthy planet, living wage for all
Let’s create a new status quo

Tidings of Comfort and Joy

(by Fern Capella; Just have the first two verses of this one...)

Tidings of Comfort and Joy
God bless you freedom fighters
is there nothing you can't do
the cold and rain empowers you
and bravely you push through
To bring the world's attention to
Justice, Love and Truth
Oh, tidings of comfort and joy be with you
Oh tidings of comfort and joy
And to the freedom fighters
what can we do for you?
When you have given everything
to make our country new
Some hot chocolate, a warm blanket
and a hug from me to you
And tidings of comfort and joy be with you
Oh tidings of comfort and joy

Comfort and Joy

God rest ye merry gentlemen, let nothing you dismay
We took your house and health care and we sent your job away (ed-KM: we took your house
and your health care and sent your job away)
Your children's education and their schools we will destroy
So the wealthy have comfort and joy
Comfort and joy
So the one percent have comfort and joy!
(from Jeff)
God rest ye banking gentlemen
May nothing you dismay
Tho’ all your greed has pushed us into social disarray.
The 99 per cent of us will be the ones to pay.
Oh, tidings of comfort and joy.
Comfort and joy.
Oh, tidings of comfort and joy.

God Curse you Greedy Bankermen

(by Brian Cameron Deff; Substitute your favorite swear word at will.)

God curse you greedy bankermen
We trust nothing that you say
We know that Reagan your savior
Helped you all get paid
Then Bush saved you all from regulators power
And you went totally astray
Oh tidings of the 1 percents Joy
The 1 percents joy
Oh tidings of 1 percents joy
In Washington and on Wall Street
Their evil plan was hatched
By Goldman Sachs and Citi Group
The people’s wealth was snatched
To their Master George W. Bush
They were all attached
Oh Tidings of 1 percents joy
The 1 percents joy
Oh Tidings of 1 percents joy
From the mass a voice arose
An idea had finally came
And unto certain people
Things would not just be the same
Those who’s greed had hurt us all
Must be met with jeers and shame
Oh tidings of the 99 percents joy
The 99 percents joy
Oh tidings of the 99 percents joy
Fear not then said the rising voice
The people will win this fight
On this day a movement is born
To help restore what’s right
To free us all from Bankers Power
And corporate control and might
Oh Tidings of the 99 percents joy
The 99 percents joy
Oh tidings of the 99 percents joy
The people came and it took it back
Took back what was once ours
Bankers lost their huge fancy homes,
Their money and their cars
Accused of the crimes that they did cause
Tried fairly, and put behind bars
Oh Tidings of the 99 percent’s joy
99 percent’s Joy
Oh Tidings of the 99 percents joy
