Incumbent Offers No Contest
On July 29, 2011, Sam Adams sealed his legacy as a Portland mayor with a consecutive one term, when he announced on his official Mayor of Portland website that he would not seek reelection [1]. Adams rose to the Rose City's highest office with a political career that most recently had included the role of Chief of Staff to the politically-savvy three-term mayor, Vera Katz.
