Welcome to the Portland civic wiki. This is the unofficial wiki of the people in the People's Republic of Portland. This wiki is by the people and for the people so the fruits of their labor may be shared as the natural laws of the universe hath intended. Welcome. Poke around, edit, try some stuff out, and have fun. Welcome. Thanks.

Hello Michael, look forward to meeting you in person some time. Best, MarkDilley

Thank you for the welcome... Michael

Signatures

By the way, if you want your signatures to automatically include a timestamp (time and date of the comment), just sign with four tildes instead of three (five tildes makes just the timestamp). Sometimes the timestamp helps other people follow the progression of a conversation but it's not a big deal either way. Thanks for helping out by the way! -kotra (talk) 04:16, 25 December 2009 (UTC)

Short Pages

Hey Michael!
Haven't seen you around PortlandWiki for awhile. Hope all's well with you. Wanted to check in with you to see if you might want to help with a couple of current PortlandWiki initiatives.
For the past couple of months or so PortlandWiki's primary maintainers (Kotra, Mark, Dave) have focused on getting the wiki a bit more "ready for prime time." To that end, we're putting some energy into beefing up the help resources, front page content and so on.
One of the more urgent tasks, in addition to creating more content, is fleshing out the content-skimpy pages. Would you mind helping out with that? The priority is to try and beef up as many of the existing Short Pages as possible. This might entail a short introductory paragraph, some references, maybe a pic, some external links and so on.
PortlandWiki's editing help page offers a few pointers here. But don't worry! Not all the existing short pages need each one of those elements right now. They just need enough content so that, with luck, other potential PortlandWiki contributors might find inspiration to add more content.
Thanks again, Michael, for all your contributions to PortlandWiki! :-) Hope to see you at one of our upcoming Monday Meets soon!
Kind regards, - WikiMaster (talk) 09:48, 12 September 2010 (PDT)

Thanks for the info. Saturday or Sunday in the mid afternoon could work or if Monday or Wednesday meetings could be pushed forward, I could perhaps attend those sometime. Michael (talk) 21:20, 12 September 2010 (PDT)Reply[reply]

Wikipedia 10th Anniversary Party: Portland

Nice edits with Wikipedia 10th Anniversary Party: Portland. I also like your idea of a Past events category. What do you think about an upcoming events category on pages where the event hasn't happened yet? I'm thinking it would be a great tool to click on the Upcoming events category and have a listing of all events in the future. -kotra (talk) 09:40, 19 January 2011 (PST)

Sounds like a good idea. Michael (talk) 21:57, 2 May 2011 (PDT)Reply[reply]
