Director Park is downtown Portland's newest public square.<ref>[Director Park http://www.portlandonline.com/parks/finder/index.cfm?PropertyID=1335&action=ViewPark] The block that is located on was intended to be one of the original Park Blocks. In its former existence, Director Park was a parking lot.
