We will need the help of the community to support Occupy Portland. Anything you can offer, large and small is appreciated. There is no plan yet for dropping off any donated items -- but stay posted.

Here are some things occupiers will need:

Food and Drinks

The Food Committee is organizing meals and beverages. If you can donate food and drinks, please email opdx99foodteam AT gmail DOT com. You can also sign up on the Food Schedule (http://doodle.com/dwnhty9gffu9pevu#cmt12048484) for food you can donate and prepare off-site.

Wish list, we need food that can be cooked for the masses:

  • Vegetarian and vegan easy meals and snacks.
  • Hotel Pans/lids
  • serving utensils
  • non-latex gloves
  • tomato sauce
  • pasta
  • granola bars/snacks
  • tortillas
  • beans
  • Coffee -- lots of it!
  • potable water
  • 55 gallon food-grade barrels for storage
  • Igloo water coolers for Hydration Stations

Wish list of medical supplies:

  • (for tear gas) an eye flush in a bottle with a squirt cap using a solution of half liquid antacid and half water. This only applies to aluminum hydroxide or magnesium hydroxide based antacids such as Maalox (plain or mint). this also works as a mouth rinse for tear gas, but spit it out!
  • A large squirt bottle of water! important to stay hydrated and water will help wash off chemical burn from tear gas.
  • Rescue Remedy tincture (or something similar--1:1 skullcap/lavender tincture, for example)
  • Flowers of borage tincture, to recover emotional strength.
  • Triangle bandages
  • Vinyl gloves
  • Gauze - sterile 4x4's
  • Band-Aids (S, M, L, knuckle, etc.)
  • Antiseptic wash (like witch hazel or iodine)
  • Paper tape
  • Arnica (for bruises)
  • Emergen-C powder or other re-hydration drink mix
  • Paper bag (for hyperventilation)
  • Sun screen (alcohol based)
  • Energy bars
  • Bandana (in a ziplock, soaked in apple cider vinegar)
  • Safety pin or 2
  • Ace bandage
  • Cake icing tube or sugar packets (diabetic emergencies)
  • Benadryl
  • Calendula/st. john's wort/arnica topical salve
  • Apis (homeopathic for bee stings & allergy)
  • Epi-pen (epinephrine, for anaphylaxis)
  • Tampons (for nose bleeds)
  • Menstrual pads, if needed. Avoid using tampons for this* if you're arrested you may not have a chance to change it (tampons left in more than six hours increase your risk of developing toxic shock syndrome)
  • Topical antibiotic ointment
  • Space blanket
  • Clean t-shirt sealed in a bag
  • Extra plastic bags
  • Bandage scissors
  • Tongue depressors (for splinting fingers)
  • Flash light
  • Mole skin
  • Matches
  • Goggles
  • Ice pack(s)/heat pack(s)
  • CPR face shield
  • Cloth sling
  • Eriogonum cinnamon tincture (to help stop bleeding)
  • Charcoal tablets (for GI upset & topically for inflammation, stings)
  • Tea bags of Smooth Move tea, or some sort of senna based tea
  • Chamomile tea bags, for eye infection or irritation
  • Epsom and/or Sea Salt – a sandwich bag full.
  • Lavender Essential Oil – 1 ounce (lavendula oficionalis, preferably)
  • gauze sponges or clean rags
  • aspirin
  • ibuprofen

Additionally, we are in need of:

  • Water for drinking.
  • Juices for Diabetic emergencies
  • Ice, Ice-packs and plastic bags, to make our own Ice-Packs.
  • Spray-bottles, for administration of anti-teargas antidotes.
  • Bandages, slings, immobilizers, tampons, maxi-pads, etc.

Overnight supplies

  • Sleeping bags
  • Mylar blankets
  • Tarps, waterproof covers
  • Umbrellas, plastic ponchos
  • Flashlights and batteries
  • Heat packs
