Looking for something to do? Have we got a list for you.
- Start a new page or add to an existing one
- Add categories to pages
- Add [[wikilinks]] linking pages to each other
- Upload freely licensed images, video, audio, drawings, other art and creative media, and then add it to a page
- Come up with ideas for unique topics that Portlanders would find useful or interesting, and post them on the PW:Article ideas page
- Come up with ideas for how to improve PortlandWiki, and post them on the PT:Community Portal page
- See that someone else did something good here? Leave them a compliment or thank you on their user talk page, this is one of the most useful things you can do and probably the easiest!
- Organize an exciting/fun meatspace (real life) event or meetup and post about it on the PW:Meetups page.
- Help improve our technical infrastructure, interface, graphics, etc. We don't have pages about this yet so if you have questions, just ask Dave or kotra.
Other fun ideas
PortlandWiki "Please Read" Banner
A few non-Wikipedia wikis currently mimic Wikipedia's "please read" banner that thrusts itself onto the tops of wiki pages the world over. Most of 'em are begging for monetary donations.
Perhaps a talented PortlandWiki contributor can construct one for PortlandWiki. Instead of cash, the PortlandWiki banner could solicit contributions like those itemized in the "to do" list above.
Rules:
No pics of Jimmy Donal "Jimbo" Wales allowed on PortlandWiki banners, please.
