Check out Ground Kontrol, a classic arcade and bar. Ground Kontrol is all-ages from Noon - 5pm daily, and 21+ only after 5pm nightly.
Drop by the Living Room Theater to check out a show.
If you are not into movies and want a cool hangout, drop by Backspace.
Art! The first week of the month offers First Thursday. Browse through the many art galleries throughout gritty Old Town and the shiny and plasticine Pearl District.
Meander through the Portland Police Historical Museum.
Walk through the South Park Blocks, which run through the Portland State University campus.

Places to go near Portland

Long Beach, Washington: Convenient Portland getaway and home to the "world's largest frying pan."

Visit beautiful Timberline Lodge, a National Historic Landmark. The lodge was constructed in the late '30s as a Works Progress Administration (WPA) project during the Great Depression.
Ski the slippery slopes of Mt. Hood.

Meander along the Pacific Coast, less than a two day power walk from Portland.
During Cascadia's wet months, succumb to a weekend bender in Bend, where the sun do shine most o' the time.
