In a nutshell:

PortlandWiki belongs to all. As we edit each others' work, it's important to keep that in mind. Disagree without being disagreeable, and work towards agreement and improvement.

We're all in this together. A wiki is a collaboratively built resource, and its strength lies in bringing the knowledge of many together into one place. This means that if you can improve on someone else's work, do it! And if they want to improve on yours, let them!

Of course, disagreement is crucial for improvement. If someone has made a change you disagree with, start a discussion on the talk page, and invite them (and any others who may be interested) to give their input. The goal of discussion should always be to come to an agreement about what is best for PortlandWiki.

In order to reach an agreement, it's important to stay civil and respectful. We Portlanders are usually friendly folks, but we also enjoy being snarky and sarcastic. Resist that urge here! Sarcasm doesn't translate well on a wiki anyway.
